Free training plans and programs to prepare for sporting events that are partners with United for sport.

Our free training plans are at the hearth of our mission: foster collaboration between elite athletes and their community.

Elite athletes put their experience at the service of recreational athletes by developing rigorous and motivating training programs.

Recreational athletes who enjoyed their free training program are encouraged to support these athletes financially by making a donation.

United for sport and its mentors offer athletes a unique blend of support, ressources and tools.

Free training programs to prepare for XC DE LA VALLÉE 2017


The XC DE LA VALLEE TEAM and the United for sport athletes are proud to offer you free 6 weeks training programs. We hope that they will help you improve and stay motivated throughout your preparation for this unique event.

It important to note that these programs are suitable for runners who have a minimum experience, have participated to a running event in the past and have been running at least 3 times a week over the last 2 months. Since your reality is unique and will evolve throughout your preparation, we recommend using the programs guides that you adjust based on your specific needs. You will also notice that every training plan includes at least one interval training per week, an element we consider essential to improve. If you are not interested to do interval training or is feeling tired, we suggest to simply do an easy run for an amount of time that is roughly equivalent to what was prescribed during the interval. Finally, during a trail run, it is often best to walk the up-hills and avoid raising your hearth rate excessively.

10 km programs

Intermediate - Advanced

Suitable for runners who :

- are able to run 4 to 5 jours days a week;
- are able to run 60 minutes without stopping
-have some experience with trail running and interval training.

Beginner - Intermediate

Suitable for runners who :

- are able to run 3 to 4 jours days a week;
- are able to run 45 minutes without stopping
- would like to experiment with interval training

 


21 km programs

Intermediate - Advanced

Suitable for runners who :

- are able to run 4 to 5 jours days a week;
- are able to run 90 minutes without stopping
-have some experience with trail running and interval training.

 

Beginner - Intermediate

Suitable for runners who :

- are able to run 3 to 4 jours days a week;
-
- are able to run 70 minutes without stopping
-have some experience with trail running and interval training.


Trans-Express program

Suitable for runners who :

- are able to run 4 to 5 jours days a week;
- are able to run 90 minutes without stopping
-have some experience with trail running and interval training.

Trans-Vallée program

Suitable for runners who :

- are able to run 4 to 5 jours days a week;
- are able to run 90 minutes without stopping
-have some experience with trail running and interval training.
